Shanice Jackson

Shanice was born in Zurich, Switzerland & currently lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Growing up in Piscataway, New Jersey, Shanice has always been proud of her Guyanese, Swiss & Ghanaian heritage.

She is a graduate of Drexel University, where she studied Hospitality Management & Culinary Arts. Shanice has worked in the restaurant/catering industry for over a decade as a private chef and event planner. She currently is a Director of Food and Nutrition Services at an elementary school in West Philadelphia.

When she isn’t in the kitchen, she can be found in the delivery room! Shanice has always been passionate about pregnancy, child birth, motherhood and babies & felt called to be a birth worker as she learned more about the Black maternal health crisis in the United States. Shanice is a certified birth & postpartum doula.

Shanice joined Brown Skin Brunchin’ after moving back to Philadelphia & starting a chapter there with hopes of bringing women together to satisfy their inner foodie!
