Donna Newton

Donna Brown Newton is a native of South Carolina and currently resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree.

She volunteers in her community when she is not running to be the State Office representative in her district and works as a county election poll worker. Donna enjoys working with different people and organizations that improve the lives of her community's underserved.

I am working with other community members to preserve our ancestors' heritage by creating a historic district. We live in an area known as "settlement communities," which developers are slowly taking over. Our mission is to save what we have, and one way is for our community to get recognized as historical. Donna is passionate about politics because change only happens when the people who make the decisions do it with the residents' interests in mind.

She joined Brown Skin Brunchin because she enjoys meeting new people and restaurants and having lively conversations over food and drink on various topics. She is looking forward to welcoming attendees in the Charleston area. She wants to make this the brunch you want to invite your friends and family to share in the experience. She believes that "Brown Skin Brunchin" is an experience that ladies of color will enjoy with or without their friend group.
