It’s time to BRUNCH!

Join Brown Skin Brunchin’ this month as we host brunch at Busboys & Poets at 11:00 AM! 

In celebration of Juneteenth, we are brunchin' at a DC favorite -- Busboys and Poets at the historic Anacostia location. Named after American poet Langston Hughes, who worked as a busboy at the Wardman Park Hotel in the 1920s, prior to gaining recognition as a poet. Busboys and Poets is a cultural hub for artists, activists, writers, thinkers, and dreamers -- where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted and a place to take a deliberate pause and feed your mind, body and soul.

Pair your favorite Juneteenth or Black joy-themed t-shirt with jeans to celebrate the occasion. Following our brunch, guests are invited to join us for an optional shopping excursion in the neighboring shops on Good Hope Road, featuring several Black-owned small businesses, including Mahogany Books and Nubian Hueman.

Please arrive on time, as the restaurant will seat complete parties. Failure to arrive on time may result in forfeiture of your seat.

We specialize in bringing together women of color for good food, fun, and drinks, all while creating friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. To reserve your space in this month's brunch, a non-refundable fee of $10 is required. Seating is confirmed once your RSVP and payment are received. Wondering what the $10 covers? It covers the cost/fees associated with keeping the group active.
