Allentown Ambassador

Karen Morris-Priester is a native of Pennsylvania and currently resides in the Lehigh Valley area. She is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine in Connecticut and completed an anesthesia residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.

In addition to practicing medicine, Karen travels the country as a motivational speaker. She is an artist working in various mediums and a writer with a book scheduled to be released in late 2023. You may stumble across her in a local coffee shop or bookstore writing and drinking a latte.

Karen is passionate about providing a support network for people of color in the Lehigh Valley area who are employed in PWI’s. She founded an affinity group at Lehigh Valley Hospital for minority physicians, advance practice clinicians, residents, and fellows. Another passion is working to increase the number of underrepresented minority healthcare clinicians with the ultimate goal of decreasing health disparities. To this end, she has created a nonprofit called Achieving Health Equity And Diversity (AHEAD) and has partnered with community leaders to provide programming and mentorship to local high school and college students. Karen has also worked with the Association of American Medical Colleges and the American Dental Education Association for over 10 years to widen the pipeline to medical and dental fields.

She joined Brown Skin Brunchin to provide a supportive and engaging network for women of color in the Lehigh Valley area. She is looking forward to mimosas, good food, good conversation, and sisterhood.
