Johnyelle Lee has worked in the industry of higher education for almost 20 years, currently serving as the Senior Director of Advancement Services at Elizabeth City State University. Prior to this role, she has served in pivotal roles at North Carolina A&T State University, Jackson State University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and The University of Virginia. She has managed all aspects of advancement services/operations and customer service for internal and external constituents, educating communities on the critical purpose and partnership of sustainable fundraising.
Johnyelle is originally from Williamston, NC. She graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and obtained a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Kaplan (Perdue) University. Her career in Advancement began at NC A&T State University. During the past 18 years, Johnyelle has provided leadership, structure, and guidance in the operational services of University Advancement in both large and small institutions. She has gained pertinent knowledge and experience in gift processing, donor relations, and prospect management, including maintaining compliance with industry standards and IRS regulations relating to receipting, recording, and reporting of gifts and pledges.
Johnyelle is also an Independent Business Owner and Life Changer of Total Life Changes, Inc., a health and wellness company. In her spare time, Johnyelle enjoys music, traveling, shopping, live (virtual) concerts, and spending time with family and friends – vehemently believing that priceless moments should always be cherished and revered. Her favorite meal is brunch, so joining Brown Skin Brunchin’ was the perfect opportunity to enjoy her favorite foods while meeting ladies with similar interests and fostering positive and meaningful relationships.
